Peter, this is really interesting! When I first saw your artwork, I thought I was looking at conceptualized music via piano keys - accidentals above, played and not played naturals forming chords below - very cool. The “reduction” of the painting was even cooler! I guess we go where our mind leads us first... Great stuff!!
Another great piece, Peter! I did see this painting at the Rijksmuseum, I think in 2009 or something before it closed for renovation- I remember it being placed out of knifing range. haha.
Hahah. I'm always amazed that you can just walk right up the Starry Night at MOMA and stick your face a few inches from it. Maybe a guard will ask you to step back, but it's right there!
This was fascinating. I'm just getting caught up on email so I'm seeing this a bit later than usual. I think this tune is one of my favorites of yours.

Thanks for the kind words. Yup, never know where things will end up!

This is one of my favorite reductions - not sure I know why! I just like it viscerally.
It’s so dark!
That’s probably it. After all, Eugene O’Neill is my favorite playwright- it that’s not dark, I don’t know what is.
It must be the cellos. :)
