My favorite parlor game is to guess the art from the title of your beat and the thumbnail in your Bandcamp release notice prior to the release of your newsletter. I always get it wrong--except today! I love this and now I wonder what makes something a worthwhile pursuit. How much does our skill at something matter in proportion to the amount of time we chose to devote to it.
That’s a great question. I think it’s rare that people have a strong desire to do something but have no talent at it... I mean, something has to draw you in right? I think chess and I are the exception!!!

I would like you to add a rap of the last moves of a famous match.
The only thing I might be worse at than playing chess is rapping.
Send me a text of the last 10 moves of Fisher Spassky and I will write one.
All is forgiven, indeed.
Go to Lucerne. Like other cities, it has giant chessboards and pieces near the bridge where people enter into a game. (Or it did, 20 years ago!)
Sounds great!!!!
I too love chess. Haven’t played in forever though. But loved the beat and reading about your history with chess.
Thanx!!! A sad history it has been ;)
I learned that I stink at chess when my (then) 10 year old started destroying me in matches. Still love playing though.
Never beat my father. Makes me love it more.
I stink at chess, do appreciate it, though. Loved Queen's Gambit, albeit not a real chess player.
The show was ver fun. They had two great consultants so they got most of the little details pretty right!
Yeah, so right that quite a few believed it to be a true story! 😅
