I tried reading your piece while playing the song and I felt like I was able to pay much closer attention to the storytelling! I'm always looking for music to read/work by -- it has to be instrumental -- and this definitely works! I'm jealous of both your instrumental prowess as well as your library job! It sounds like a wonderful combo!
-That’s so cool, thanks much! I really try to write something that makes sense for each piece. Ironic, hard for me to listen to any music while I read, I get distracted!
-I absolutely love being an archivist.
-Please, listen all you want on Bandcamp, it’s free!
This is completely marvelous. And yes I do like the slidey guitars, not to mention the murmuring voices, the kazoo (?), the finely modulated typewriter, and the quirky-jaunty-bouncy horn. The library mystique has never sounded better and the visuals and commentary are deserving of a carte blanche free pass from shushing and overdue fines for life.
Great sound, that typewriter rocks! Also maybe you could lend Carter a hand! 😅 “Much more with the crawling around in basements and finding hidden chests with ancient scrolls.” Everyone wants your job now! Great post and that’s a definite yes on the sliding guitar. 🎸
I'm reading/listening to this as I work in my public library. The magic of this track is that it seemed to perfectly sync with the cars passing by the large window I'm sitting at, the older gentleman carefully reading "The Wall Street Journal", and the librarian guiding a confused patron to the right section. The slide guitars were my favorite part, with the horn (cornet?) a close second. Do you have an album of your music available anywhere? I l would love to work while listening to your compositions!
Thanks so much. What a vivid picture of your day at the library. And yes, a cornet: I originally wrote trumpet in the post but just did a little edit after your note!
You can listen to all my beats at Bandcamp (https://polyestercity.bandcamp.com), no play limits...the first 13 are collected in the "Spring 2023" album, and the more recent are singles.

Amazing, as always. I suppose there’s going to be a part of me that will forever be a librarian. ✌🏻
We have to stick together, us book types.
Great song! I love that all the different parts are in different keys.
Thanks! Yeah, that kinda tends to be a thing. 🤷♂️

Thanks, I’ve never used Bandcamp before. I’ll check it out! I’m excited to get more listening time in of your music
Thanx! Oh, yes, I would love to go on an adventure with Carter and Jackie!
